Nongstoin, July 25: The sitting HSPDP MLA from Mawshynrut Mr Witting Mawsor, said that “For me the more the merrier, I am happy with the decision of the UDP-HSPDP alliance announcement, where the constituency I am representing is declare an open seat”.
He also said in my case, the more candidates who are in the fray it will be good for the sitting MLA, this is not only for his constituency but also for others constituencies. The decision of the leaders of both the political parties, the UDP and the HSPDP has consulted me (Witting Mawsor) before taking this decision.
Mr Mawsor also pointed out that the decision taken earlier is subject to review before taking the final decision who should contest in the election from those constituencies whose party is having there sitting MLA, like his constituency, and the UDP like Sohra, Mawthadraishan and Mawkynrew constituency.
The MLA of the HSPDP also said that he will not blame the UDP or his party the HSPDP since the decision is taken with understanding of both the political party who form the alliance to contest in the upcoming MLA election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in the early part of 2018.
