Shillong, September 29:  Attired in their traditDrum beatingional regalia, indigenous drummers of Meghalaya, including ladies and children enthralled the goddess and the earthlings alike at the Motinagar Durga Puja pandal on Maha Ashtami.

The 6th Prasad Gupta Memorial Drum Beat Contest, in memory of a veteran journalist was organized by the Central Puja Committee, which attracted nine participating teams from the Khasi-Jaintia Hills.

“Our endeavour is to showcase the rich ethnic heritage in percussion,” said one of the organizers.
