Tura, July 18: Mr Boston Marak today he was elected as the new Chief Executive Member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council by securing 17 votes in the house of 29 members in the District Council in the election held today.
The election was held in a sacred ballet, Mr Boston Marak secured 17 votes while the NPP candidate Mr Sukharan K Sangma secured 11 votes, while the Deputy Chairman who conducted the election did not vote in the election.
