Shillong, The Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma and the leader of opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly express their sorrow on the passing away of late Ganold Stone Massar both the leaders express their saddened by the sad news and convey their deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
The Chief Minister in his twitter said, saddened by the demise of late Mr Ganold Stone Massar, former Law Minister, CEM of the KHADC and Advocate General of Meghalaya. Bah Ganold made rich contribution through the many roles he served and his death is a huge loss to the state. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
Dr Mukul Sangma in his condolence said that “ I , and my family join all our colleagues and friends in condoling the passing away of Shri (Late) G S Massar, former Minister of our state of Meghalaya. We are deeply saddened by the sad news and convey our deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family”.
Shri (Late) G S Massar , besides serving as one of the illustrious lawyers , had a long innings in public life with immense contributions to the overall development of the state of Meghalaya in general and the most difficult areas of the state in particular.
He was relentless in his endeavour to address the developmental disparities across the state and focused on drawing the attention of all in authorities to uplift the living standards of the poor and vulnerable people residing in the international border areas along Bangladesh.
I had the privilege to associate with him as one of the colleagues in the Legislative Assembly, and, still nurture the fondest of memories of the skills of oratory with which Bah (Late) G S Massar use to articulate issues with in-depth understanding of the subjects inside the Assembly, thus ,demonstrating the art of result-oriented debates; he was a friend, a guide and an inspiration to many of us, the first-timers in the Assembly then.
With his demise, the people and the state has lost a great son of the soil and filling the vacuum left by his demise will require a long time. I, with my family, join friends, relatives and members of the bereaved family in prayers that the gracious Almighty God grant the bereaved family the much needed solace and fortitude to overcome the irreparable loss and that the departed soul rest in an eternal peace.With sincere prayers, Dr Mukul Sangma.
