Shillong, August 25: The delegation of GSU, AAYF and ADE from South Garo Hills, Baghmara met Mr C Purkuyastha General Manager of SBI, Guwahati, in charge Meghalaya on Thursday on the problems of the SBI Branch Baghmara, and to reopen the SBI Branch at Rongra.
The NGOs submitted a memorandum and in the memorandum they have appraised the grievances face by the people and they have also suggested what can be done for immediate improvement and development for the SBI Bank in Baghmara, like Cash Deposit Machine, proper maintenance of server link.
The Bank should provide sufficient amount of cash every month to upgrade the cash deposit and withdrawal along with the staff and to reopen the SBI Branch at Rongra and to facilitate to open new bank account. They have also asked the SBI official to put up more ATM machine in Baghmara.
In the meeting Mr Purkuyastha acknowledge the problems face by the people of the South Garo Hills, and they are genuine and he has assured the NGOs, he will look into it within a short time.
