Shillong, November 24: The BSF doctors at Composite Hospital BSF conducted an operation to help a civil lady from bordering area to help her get rid off her pain due to old sickness . Her problem was diagonised during a medical camp organized by BSF and doctors of civil hospitals Shillong on 5th Nov’ 2017 at village Baku, Dawki where mass screening regarding diabetes and other commonly prevailing diseases was done.
More than 400 civilians of nearby localities attended the camp, around 50 were detected as a case of diabetes in different stages and they are being evaluated and guided accordingly. One case of appendicitis was detected. Extending helping hard to the patient it was offered by Composite Hospital BSF Shillong that the same will be operated free of cost at BSF hospital.
The offer was accepted by relatives and the patient namely Razia Khang Padoh resident of Baku village. The patient and her relatives were provided transportation by BSF from their native place to BSF campus Shillong and after proper investigation, the patient was operated by surgical team of Composite Hospital BSF Shillong.
The operation was successful and the patient got relief from an old chronic painful disease which resulted in bringing smile on the faces of relatives and expression of satisfaction on the face of the patient. The relatives of the patient expressed their gratitude and thankfulness towards BSF in general and medical team of the BSF hospital Shillong in particular.
This is a part of new initiative taken by BSF and the omen work done by BSF was to infuse the feeling of ownness and confidence amongst border population. As intimated by Dr AC Bharadwajan DIG Medical, the medical team of Composite Hospital Shillong will be doing more such medical camps at different border locations of Meghalaya to screen the border population and to provide them required medical and surgical intervention free of cost as a part of confidence building measure among border population of state of Meghalaya.
