Shillong Lajong will play in the I-League with Minerva Punjab FC on Sunday

Shillong, January 12: The Shillong Lajong will host the current I-League table leaders, Minerva Punjab FC on Sunday, 14th January at the JN Stadium Shillong at 2 PM.

Minerva Punjab arrived in Shillong on Thursday evening and began their preparations for Sunday’s game on Friday morning in Polo Ground Shillong.

The Punjab side won their last match against Mohun Bagan by 2-1 in Kolkata on 10th January. Bhutanese striker, Chencho Gyelshen scored a brace to hand his side the win.

After this victory, Minerva retained the top position of the I-League standings with 19 points from 8 games.

Meanwhile, the home team, Shillong Lajong FC is currently in the 4th position with 14 points from 9 matches and will be heading into Sunday’s clash after winning against Indian Arrows by 1-0 at home on Monday night.

Ivory Coast Forward, Abdoulaye Koffi scored the winner for the Reds after an assist by local lad, Sheen Stevenson Sohktung. Shillong Lajong were dominant throughout the match and overall it was a great team performance.

The tickets for Sunday’s game are available at The Mobile Centre Police Bazaar, Sports Spirit MUDA Complex and SSA Stadium Counter Polo Ground. Shillong Lajong Football Club also calls upon their fans to be there and support the Reds on Sunday at 2 PM, JN Stadium.
