Shillong, September 27: The Commissioner & Secretary, District Council Affairs Department, Government of Meghalaya has informed that the Bye Elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council for the 8-Nongkrem, 15-Laban-Mawprem, 22-Nongspung-Sohiong, 23-Mairang-Nongkhlaw, 24-Pariong-Mawthadraishan and 28-Rambrai-Jyrngam Constituencies in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and 1-War-East Constituency in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council will be held on 13-12-2016.
He further informed that the date for publication of draft Electoral Roll will be on 10-10-2016, last date of filing claims and objections on 25-10-2016, disposal of claims and objections on 15-11-2016, publication of Final Electoral Roll on 18-11-2016, date for calling the constituencies to elect their Representatives on 21-11-2016, last date for filing of Nomination on 28-11-2016 (before 3:00 PM), date of Scrutiny of Nomination Papers on 28-11-2016 (after 3:00 PM), last date for withdrawal of Nomination Papers on 01-12-2016, date of finalization and publication of valid nomination and allocation of symbol on 03-12-2016, hours of commencement and close of poll from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and date of counting on 16-12-2016.
