Shillong, March 28: The president of the BJYM Mr Egenstar Kurkalang today write to the Home Minister Mr James P K Sangma urging the State Government to constitute a special enquiry team with regard to the murder of the JYF president Mr Poipynhun Mawjaw.
In the letter sent to the home minister the BJYM, stated that late Mr Poipynhun Majaw was one of the prominent youth leader and active social activist of Jiantia Hills he was also President of Jiantia Youth Federation(JYF) Central Body,he also often stand against corruption and any malpractices of government Department and other Agencies which involve public interestsome of those issues like,against the misappropriation of development fund by JHADC in the last few years,the non-compliance by Cement Plant Factories in East Jiantia Hills District to environmental laws,etc.
That, unfortunately on20th march 2018 he was found murdered at Khliehriat East Jiantia Hills Distict,the reason of which is not known and the same no one has been arrestedyet,though the incident was purely a murder case and a well plan incident, and also this might be a plan of vested interest person or group to suppress the voice of the public or a responsiblepersons not to oppose or against any Government Department or Agenciesetc which is illegal in nature.
The BJYM term that, this is an inhuman act and unacceptable in the society,thus the culprit should not be escape from legal procedures they should be dealt with accordingly,therefore we feel that an efficient and independent Enquiry Team should be Constituted immediately for the end of law and justice.
