Shillong March 3: The state cabinet today approved the proposed amendment Bill, of the Meghalaya Contingency Fund bill, 2017 that will be raised from Rs.205 cores to Rs.305 cores, this will bring in the current budget session for consideration in the Assembly.
After the cabinet meeting the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that, the cabinet has approved to augment the corpus to Rs.305 cores. Tjis will ba place before the august house. The original one was Rs.205 cores and it was increased to Rs.405 cores in the form of the ordinance but now will bring in the form of the Bills.
The Chief Minister said that with this augmentation will enable the finance department to released the fund from the Contingency Fund based on the proposals of the line departments, which are not otherwise supported by the budget.
