The Choral Evangelists organised the concert ‘Christmas with Mother Earth’

Shillong, December 17: Focussing on the need to care for our natural environment, the Choral Evangelists organised the concert ‘Christmas with Mother Earth’ under the direction of Fr. Barnes Mawrie SDB. The other five prominent choral groups and well-known solo singers of the region also joined in, to enthral the audience with mesmerising songs here at Mawlai Parish ground.

The programme kicked off at 7 p.m. in the evening and lasted till 9 p.m. The chief guest for the occasion Shri Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, Minister for Urban Affairs and the other guests of honour His Grace Archbishop Dominic Jala and ShriEmbhaSyiemlieh, the local MLA conveyed their seasonal greetings and urged the people to learn to respect and care for our natural environment since the Son of God himself chose to come down to our very own universe.

“Concerning the need of present scenario we have dedicated this Christmas concert to give the message to all that we should love and preserve the mother earth,” Fr. Mawrie the organizer.

 

Besides songs, a meaningful short skit of Visitation Sisters of Don Bosco (VSDB) novices of Upper Shillong added the colour to the concert. At the end of the programme the Choral Evangelists captivated the hearts of the audience with a Christmas medley to which all joined in unison.
