Shillong, May 31: The Deputy Commissioner & District Registrar of Citizens Registration, West Jaintia Hills District has informed that the NPR/ Aadhaar enrolment has started in Laskein Block and more than 1000 people have been enrolled in the first 3 days in the SAGY village of Shangpung Mission.
Simultaneously the District Administration will start enrollment in all Block including Jowai town from 6th June, 2016 onwards. In connection with this an open awareness programme is scheduled to be held on the 3rd June, 2016 from 11.00 am onwards in the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai.
To allay the fears and apprehension of the general public, a team from the Directorate of Census Operations, Shillong headed by Mr. J.R Swer, Statistical Investigator will give presentation explaining the benefits of NPR/Aadhaar and the procedure of enrolment.
All the Headmen of Jowai Town, Thadlaskein and Amlarem Blocks, media persons and the general public of the District are invited to attend the awareness programme.
