The emergent meeting of the BJP Meghalaya Condemn the statement of the Governor

Shillong, Dec 15: The state leaders of the BJP Meghalaya state unit held their emergent meeting in the State party office to discussed on the situation in the state arises after the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 was passed in both Houses of parliament and now has become an act after getting the assent of the president.

The BJP Meghalaya state BJP in the press statement issued to media houses  said that, the emergent meeting of the State BJP leaders held at the state party office on Saturday the 14th December 2019 chair by Mr J A Lyngdoh state vice president of the BJP Meghalaya to discuss the passage of the CAB.

During the discussion the members present expressed that the present volatile situation in the state is a matter of great concern  and the members present in the meeting stated that the decision of the central government to exempt on the sixth schedule area will not served the demand of the local indigenous community.

Thus the state office bearers passed a resolution that the implementation of the CAA be exempted throughout the state as a whole. The meeting also passed a resolution to support the long pending demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit in the State of Meghalaya.

In the meeting the party members felt that the present structure of the institution of the state should not be touched at all. At the same time the meeting also condemn the statement given by the Governor of Meghalaya which comes out in local daily date 14th December 2019 and cannot be accepted at all and the matter will be raised with the central leaders.

The emergent meeting  was chair Mr J A Lyngdoh state Vice President and attended by  Mr David Kharsati State Vice President, Mr Bashailang Khongwir Genenral Secretary State BJP Meghalaya and Mr Sanbor Shullai MLA 19th South Shillong.
