The KSU New Delhi Unit and Meghalaya police rescued khasi girl in Andhra Pradesh

Shillong, April 10: After the tip off received from Mr  Daniel Stone Lyngdoh, advisor KSU New Delhi Unit, Mr Wallamkupar Nongsiej, the Vice President Of KSU Delhi who is currently in Meghalaya was informed to initiate the matter.

After a clear study into the matter, Lyngdoh Co ordinated with Wallamkupar Nongsiej, Vice President and It was on 9th of February that the Special Branch of Meghalya Police and the SP of East Khasi Hills was informed and swiftly, they have immediately initiated the matter and rescued the victim through the Andhra Special Branch.

The female victim, 21 years old is an orphan and currently working at Anees Ladies Beauty Parlour, Hair Spa and Solutions. The house owner who provided her the shelter during the lockdown is also the owner of the parlour and he has physically abuse and mentally torture the victim.

The victim already had a planned of returning back to Meghalaya prior to the Nationwide lockdown but due to the sudden lockdown, she couldn’t succeed her plan. There has also been a suicide attempt from the victim because of the abuse and threats that she is facing during this period.

It was on 31st of March, 2020 the house owner had tried to forcefully abuse her physically but she fights back and get to escaped the room and thereafter, the mental torture continues.

It was on 9th of April, 2019 the Special Branch and the SP of EKH, immediate action has been initiated. The girl has been rescued on the same date itself that is on the 9th Of April, 2020 by the Andhra Police Official in Vijaywada.

As per the information received from Nongsiej who is also in contact with police official from Patamata Police Station, the victim is in safe hands and has been under the Mahila Mandal Women’s Shelter Homecare near Benz Circle, Vijaywada and the investigation on the parlour owner is still going.

The Vice President of KSU Delhi Chapter thanking the KSU President CEC who escalated the matter to the CMO and altogether thanking the Meghalaya Police team as a whole.

According to Nongsiej, there are many other cases and instances on which the workers and students from the state are being confront to such difficulties and other forms of discrimination especially during this lockdown period, the Khasi Students’ Union New Delhi Unit has received a lot of messages and calls from students who resides across the state and the KSU New Delhi urged the authority concerned to provide utmost priority and assistance to these victims wherever they are being left stranded.
