Shillong, Sept 15: The National Medical Council (NMC), Regional Center for Medical EducationTechnology (RC-MET), NEIGRIHMS successfully conducted the first Revised Basic Course Workshop on Medical Education Technology from 12-14 September 2022. A total of 19medical faculty from West Bengal, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and 11 inhouse facultywere trained.
This program will contribute to improvement in the quality of medical education in the eastern region, by upskilling medical teachers in newer techniques in MET and orienting them to the newly introduced Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) which was recently introduced by theNMC.
It is noteworthy that NEIGRIHMS was recently awarded the status of RC-METin March 2022. The RC-MET, NEIGRIHMS will be conducting several such workshops annually and help train faculty of 17 medical colleges assigned to it by NMC.
