Shillong, March 24: Today at around four o’clock in the afternoon the petrol pump at Nongrim Hills caught on fire suddenly and creates panic to the residence in the area since the petrol pump is lo
cated in the residential area.
The fire service after getting the information on this fire incident rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire but it took long time to fire service to extinguish the fire. Till filling of this report there is not untoward incident.
Some people inform SP News Agency said that their main fear is that, they were worried if the tanker explored then will be disastrous to the people who were residing in and around this petrol pump since this area is a residential area.
When contacted, Smti Mary Gnora T Sangma the Superintendent of police in-charge, of fire services said that she was still on the place where the fire incident occurred. The cause of the fire was to ascertain.
The police confirm that the fire incident that was taken place in Nongrim hills is that one oil tanker caught fire at M/s Baman Service Station, Nongrim Hills, Shillong. As a result, the tanker was completely gutted.
