Shillong, August 22: The Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council begins their three day public Rally at 7.00 AM today from Nongstoin, headquarters of the West Khasi Hills District and it will culminate in the state capital on the 24th of this month that is coming Thursday.
The HYC has call for this public rally is to put pressure on the state government, to implement their 14 point charter of demand put by them before the state government to tackle influx in the state of Meghalaya. The HYC firmly belief that only Inner Line Permit like will check influx in the state.
The General Secretary of the HYC Mr Robertjune Kharjahrim told SP News Agency the members of the HYC has started the three day public rally today from Nongstoin at 7.00 AM and they will hold at Mariang for the night, tomorrow they will continued up to Mawngap, take a hold and day after tomorrow they will proceed to Shillong, he said.
On this three day rally, the HYC members has to cover the distance of 98 km from Nongstoin to Shillong on foot, this is the longest public rally had ever taken by an organization since the inception of the state of Meghalaya.
