Shillong, February 9: After issuing notice that the Transport Checkpoint-cum-Weighbridge at 13th Mile, Tamulkuchi, Ri Bhoi District has been de-requisitioned and has functioned from 25th Mile, Shangbangla, Ri Bhoi District, for purpose of checking and weighing of all goods laden vehicles plying on NH-40, it is found that concerned transporters or vehicles owners still bring overloaded vehicles to the departmental weighbridge or checking station thereby causing massive traffic jam at and before the weighbridge or checking station resulting in unwarranted inconvenience to the public at large.
The Commissioner of Transport has therefore reiterated that all transporters/vehicles owners shall mandatorily get their vehicles checked and weighed at 25th Mile, Shangbangla, Ri Bhoi District, for appropriate documents as required by law and shall ensure to carry only the permissible load to avoid delay at the weighbridge/checking station.
