Youth from the state of Madhya Pradesh visited Meghalaya International Border in Tura area

Shillong, July 30: The Border Security Force Meghalaya Frontier has successfully conducted the border tour for 72 Youth from Madhya Pradesh who visited Tura area under “Maa Tujhe Parnam” Scheme.

The youth belonging to age group of 18-20 years have excelled in various fields as education, sports, culture, art etc and were sponsored by Ministry of Sports, Govt of Madhya Pradesh. 06 instructors also accompanied the students. These students belonged to various districts from Madhya Pradesh who travelled from Jabalpur to Guwahati by train and further by road to Tura and border areas.

The Border Security Force, Tura Sector conducted the border tour by arranging their visit to the Historical Killapara War Memorial where the youth were briefed and shown a documentary on the history and important role played by the BSF during the 1971 War. The youth were also shown the various Arms Ammunition and special gadgets such as night vision devices being used by the Border Security Force.

The youth were briefed about the current border situation and how the Border Security Force carries out various tasks and maintains close surveillance on the Border 24×7. The Youth who till date had only seen the borders on the TV, had the rare opportunity to visit and stay overnight on the BSF Border Outposts to have the first hand experience of border tasks and duty.

The tour culminated at HQ 26 Bn BSF where the youth were given detailed presentation on Border Security Force and various schemes open for recruitment in BSF including the eligibility criterion.

The tour had visibly thrilled the youth who repeatedly chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai, BSF ki Jai” when this reporter visited the campus at Tura before their departure back to Guwahati.
