A total of 156 Cambodian Civil Servants have attended capacity building programs at NCGG

New Delhi, March 28: The two-week long 4th Training Programme for Civil Servants of Cambodia on Public Policy and Governance commences today at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Mussoorie.  The programme is being organised from 26th March, 2024 to 6th April, 2024 in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

39 Officers of Cambodia serving as Director, Deputy Director, Chief Office from Ministry of Inspection and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports are attending the program to be held at Mussoorie and New Delhi.

The programme was graced by Shri V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG & Secretary of Department of Administrative Reform and Public Grievances (DARPG). Speaking on the occasion he spoke about the historical relations between the two nations and their civilizations.

He also elaborated on the India’s governance model highlighting how the digital technology has been embraced in India to ensure better policy making, service delivery, transform institutions and bring citizens closer to government.

The DARPG, Secretary said “Digitization of institutions is necessary to bring transparency and accountability and ensure good governance”. He elaborated in detail on Public Grievance Redressal Mechanism, Pensions Welfare under the DARPG, NESDA and the Khelo India Programme. During his remarks he encouraged the officers to work in groups and make presentations on key policies and programmes being undertaken.

The National Centre for Good Governance is an autonomous institution under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.

The NCGG in partnership with Ministry of External Affairs has imparted training to civil servants of 17 countries viz. Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, Seychelles, Gambia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Laos, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Eretria and Cambodia.

Dr. BS Bisht, Associate Professor and Course Coordinator, gave a brief introduction about the topics of the course that includes the Changing Paradigm in Governance and Viksit Bharat @2047. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Co-course Coordinator will carry out overall supervision and coordination of the training programme.
