Shillong, Jan 18: The AYWO Central Governing Body, has organised ‘Poster Campaign Cum Pamplets Distribution’ against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 on Thursday in and around Tura from Asanang to Dakopgre MP Stadium via Ringrey/Tura Bajar, Dobasipara, New Tura, Bokmagre, ICFAI, Me’gong Boldak. Hundreds of Members of AYWO joined the poster campaign.
The social organization who take part in the poster campaign are the GSU, FKJGP, ADE and the NESO also joined the protest and seek immediate Scrapping of CAB 2016 in Unison. The protestors shouted slogans against NDA and BJP. NESO Asst. Secretary General Shri Manseng Sangma addressed the gathered crowd and seek community Participation in opposing the Bill.
The GSU President, Mr Tengsak Momin also spoke on the occasion. He urged all the attendees of the program to be vigilant about the impending threats posed to our Community by this Bill. He asked everyone to defend our Motherland or else be ready to be a part of History after due extinction. The GSU President said whats the use of development if we can’t reap the benefits of it. He said let take pride in our identity and take responsibility to defend it.
The General Secretary of AYWO, Sengbath Chambugong on the other hand comes down heavily on NDA government for Bulldozing our rights. ‘NDA was trying very hard to go ahead with the Bill because they intend to put their ‘political footprint’ in West Bengal, since they cannot breach the ‘Fortress’ of Mamata Banerji and TMC.
The Chief Organising Secy, AYWO Shri Silkam Marak also will extend its support to NESO for the Whole NE Movement and warned the Modi led NDA govt not to test our patience and will go to any extend to protect our Identity. Said Mr L R Marak publicity secretary in the press statement issued today.
