Mawkyrwat, April 02: Today in the early morning around 4.00 Am, cyclonic storm couple along with hailstorms has hit the bordering area with Bangladesh particularly from Moilam village upto Ranikor Area of South West Khasi Hills District, under Ranikor C&RD Block where hundreds of houses and vehicles has been damaged.
The MLA of this area Mr Martin M Danggo soon after getting this information from the villagers about this sad happening, he immediately rush to his constituency to take stock of the situation along with relief materials to help thus affected families in this natural calamities. It was told that many villages in the border area were affected right from Moilam area upto Ranikor.
The Local MLA has personally rushed to his constituency to supervise so that relief material can be given to all thus affected families till the assessment from the official is completed, the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District was inform about this natural calamities that has taken place in the Indo- Bangladesh border villages.
An official sources said that hundreds of houses in the Indo-Bangladesh border were damage in this area that was hit by the cyclonic storms, so far no reports of any casualties were reported except the damage of residential houses and few vehicles were destroy as hit by big hailstorms, particularly in Phodkroh village.
