Shillong, July 04: Endeavoring to achieve maximum coverage of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme for Infirm, Widows and Disabled, the Enrolment Drive has started in the ICDS Projects of Zikzak, Betasing, Selsella, Rongram, Dalu, Tikrikilla, Kharkutta, Rongjeng, Mawkynrew, Umsning and Mylliem from the 3rd July, 2014 and the Enrolment Drive will continue till the 16th July, 2014.
To facilitate the process of enrolment drive, Help Desks are already set up in the above mentioned ICDS Projects. These Help Desks will be assisting all the beneficiaries to fill up the forms, free photographs, obtaining necessary documents and opening of bank accounts etc. The
Help Desks will be assisted by a group of volunteers as Support Teams. Wide publicity is already provided through ICDS Functionaries, Village Headmen and IPR Department. The concerned Deputy Commissioners are overseeing the overall preparation of the programme. After the completion of the enrolment drive, the Hon’ble Chief Minister will release the second phase of fund for new beneficiaries in the Mela to be organized at the selected ICDS Project.
The concerned department like District Administration, Health, Social Welfare, Banks and others will be present during the Melas and the spot issueance of disability certificates, opening of bank accounts and releasing of pensions will be done on the same day.
Eligible beneficiaries are requested to contact the offices of the concerned Child Development Project Officers for further information and necessary enrolment.(SP News)
