Fake currency, gold smuggling and human trafficking discusse at the BCC meeting

Shillong, October 05: The Bangladesh delegation reached Shillong on 5th Oct 2016 as a part of their visit during the Border Coordination Conference between Director General BSF and Director General, BGB scheduled from 30th  Sept’ to 5th  Oct’ 2016.

The Bangladesh delegation was led by Lt. General Aziz Ahmed, BGBM, PBGM, psc, G, Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh. The delegation visited Umiam lake, Elephant Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Root Bridge before crossing over to Bangladesh through ICP Dawki. The high level delegation also visited Frontier HQ BSF Meghalaya and had instructions with the officers.

It is to mention that Directors General level border coordination conference between the two forces is held biannually. During the meeting  both the forces agreed for effective implementation of Coordinated Border Management Plan for better border management so as to prevent cross border criminal activities.

During the meeting they also discuss, cattle smuggling, fake currency and gold smuggling, illegal migration, human trafficking. Both the sides also agreed for establishing a mechanism of sharing inputs regarding terrorists operating in border area of either country.
