Shillong, April 02: The Superintendent of police East Khasi Hills District said that the HNLC militant arrested by the Kolkata police is identified as Phyrnailang Swer. He escape from the city hospital NEIGRIHMS On 17.07.2013.
The police is always on the look out for Mr Phyrnailang Swer, a hardcore criminal and member of the banned outfit, HNLC, escaped from NEIGRIHMS hospital and since then he had remained elusive.
Police had been on the look out for him and with the help of intelligence agencies, both state and central, he was traced out in Kolkata. On the Ist April, 2014, the Special Task Force of Kolkata
Police managed to locate his hideout at Chittaranjan Avenue and raided the place where they were able to apprehend him along with another person, Shri Nand Kishore Thakur.
A team from Shillong Police have left for Kolkata to bring both persons to Shillong for further investigation.
It maybe mention Shri Phyrnailang Swer was first arrested on the 13.08.2004 alongwith 8(eight) others when they formed a new criminal gang, styled, the Retrieval of Indigeneous United Forum (RIUF).
He was put under MPDA and after released from detention he started working closely with HNLC.
His arrest is of significance considering his close activities with the leaders of HNLC said the statement released from the police.(SP News)
