Shillong, September 24: Just five month to go the heat for the coming general MLA election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly waking up in the entire constituencies in the state with people moving from one political party to the others in different constituencies.
In Ri Bhoi District, where the District has four constituencies, Umroi, Umsning, Nongpoh and Jirang, in this District many Congress leaders left their party and Joint the regional party the United Democratic Party in the presence of the president and the party nominee candidate Mr Don Sumer who is also sitting MDC from Umsning Constituency.
While welcoming the Congress leaders who has chosen UDP to joint, Dr Donkupar Roy express that this ha show that the people have faith in the UDP party as a regional party that will served the people of the state for better governance. The UDP President urged his party workers to work hard so that the party will win the coming MLA Election from Umsning Constituency.
Prominent persons who join the UDP party are Mr Carlus Kharkongor who has contested in the last MLA election who secured 5400 votes, Mr Rocky Kylla, Mr ED Kharbani leaders of the FKJGP and many Mahilas of the Congress party joint the UDP party at the gathering in Umsning Town Dorbar Hall, Ri Bhoi District.
