KSU condemn the action of Mr Rajen, the then Chairman, PC on welfare of OBC

Shillong, December 05: The attention of the Khasi Students Union (KSU) is drawn to a news that appear in section of the media stating that  “Kharkongor made NEEPCO CMD despite complaints” in which it was expressed that the present Union Minister of state, Government of India, Mr Rajen Gohain who was then the Chairman, parliamentary Committee on the welfare of other backward classes (OBC) has sought the intervention of the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) with the sole objective to stop Mr A.GWest Kharkongor from becoming the Chairman and Managing director(CMD) of NEEPCO . From the report, it shows that there is a connivance with a top official functionary of NEEPCO who was also vying for the post of CMD.

From the media revelations it is clear that there was a serious attempt by some vested interest to prevent Mr A.G West Kharkongor from becoming a CMD in which the Union takes this action of this particular NEEPCO official as an act which is inimical to the interest of the Khasi people in particular and corporation in general. Through these revelations, the following questions arise.

From where did Mr Rajen Gohain have all the personal information of MrA.G West Kharkongor,Whatare the reasons of Mr Rajen Gohain to take a special interest for the removal of Mr A.G West Kharkongor, Whois the top functionary of NEEPCO who doesn’t want to revealhis identity.

In light of the above revelations, the Union condemn the action of Mr Rajen Gohain, the then Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on welfare of other Backward Classes and also a top functionary of NEEPCO who indulge in these unscrupulous action and warned people with vested interest to desist from all these unwarranted practices and if they don’t want to work in Meghalaya, they are free to leave the state.
