Meghalaya Govt has lifted PDS Rice from FCI, where is has gone?

Shillong, May 21:  The Food and Civil Supply Department Government of Meghalaya has lifted the PDS  rice from the godawn of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for three consecutive month, that February, March, April and even for these month of May but the question arises where do the Meghalaya Government kept since it has not been distributed to the consumer.

People of Meghalaya who has the Ration Cards get PDS rice from their respective Fair Price shop allocated for the month of January where distributed to the cards holder in the month of February this year. Thought the state government lifted the PDS rice for the last three month from the FCI, but till date it has not been distributed to the consumer.

Sources from the FCI told SP News Agency that the Government of Meghalaya has lifted the PDS rice as allocated to the state by the government of India, they state Government has lifted the allocation for the three consecutive month from February to April and for the Month of May they will have to complete lifting by the second week of June.

Sources from the FCI, said that the duty of the office is to see that PDS rice allocated by the Central is lifted from the central Pool and transported to all the location of the FCI Godawn in different place in the state, then the state government lift the PDS rice from the FCI Godawn to their respective destination, once lifted from the FCI Godawnits is the state government duty to see where its kept.
