Meghalaya Police as public to report to the nearest police station if fraudster sent messages

Shillong, April 17: The Meghalaya Police said that it has come to their notice that there are some individual has collected the information about particular organistion and department from Internet, like the name and designation of particular person.

This people after getting all the particular they impersonate as the superior of a particulars organization and departments by using their name and pictures obtain from the internet in order to dupe his or her subordinate.

These fraudster sent email and messages to their subordinates on the pretext  that he or she is attending urgent meeting that they are unable to make call by requesting them to purchase e-gift cards from Amazon and sent to them on the email anf whatsApp or email.

The Meghalaya police requested the citizens not to fall prey  to such email and messages and if they come across or received such messages from such superior official they should confirm and verifies before making such payment and the matter should be reported to nearest police station or Cyber Crime Wing said Smti.
