Shillong, August 24: The National President of the NPP, Mr Conrad K Sangma, today he neither admit or reject on the party Chief Ministerial candidate for the Legislative Assembly Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly due in the year 2018.
While answering to queries, on the chief ministerial candidate of Miss Agatha K Sangma from the NPP party the former union mister of state, the national president said, is all depend on the people wish, he cannot say anything on this.
He also said that the state government has not sent the utilization certificate to the Union government even for the scholarship of the student for the last two years, he has inquired from the tribal affair ministry that no pending amount was left due for the scholarship of the student, but if the state government does not issued utilization certificate, the government of India will not released the scholarship for the coming year 2016-2017.
The National People’s Party (NPP) today celebrated its Meghalaya State Unit foundation across the state. The Party was established and launched the party in the state of Meghalaya in the year 2012.
Speaking with reporters, at NPP headquarters in the city, the party National President Conrad K. Sangma, said “Due to the fact that this year also happens to be the year we lost our founder and leader P. A. Sangma we took the decision to have small programme across the state to mark the occasion.”
The NPP leader informed that in the past few weeks the party has been touring different parts of Garo, Khasi and Jaintia hills working to organize the party.
“In the past 2 or 3 days we have been in Jowai and different parts of Jaintia hills and we have formed three different blocks of the NPP which includes in Amlarem , Nartyiang and Mawkaiaw constituency and we have also set up youth committees in these areas,” he said.
