MPCC Election Committee approved the name of Miani as candidate to contest from 53-Ampati

Shillong, May 03: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Election committee sat today to decide for the party candidate for the by-election to the 53-Ampati Assembly Constituency.

The Election Committee in the meeting today approved the name of the daughter of Dr Mukul Sangma former Chief Minister Niani D Shira as the party candidate to contest in the by-election in the 53-Ampati Assembly Constituency schedule on the 28th May this month.

The seat from 53-Ampati Assembly Constituency remain vacant after Dr Mukul Sangma who won both the constituency from  Songsak and   Ampati in the general election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has decided to retain Songsak and resign from Ampati.
