Shillong, July 01: The General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), Meghalaya state unit Mr David Kharsati said “ Not only Rajiv Mehta can tackle insurgency, all officer down the line are capable”.
The General secretary of the BJP Meghalaya state Unit MR Kharsati, while reacting to the allegation made by the Chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma against the BJP government at the centre for not accepting the request of the state government to extend the service of the outgoing DGP, said that “it is a blame game of the state government which is not true just to get millage”.
Mr Kharsati said that the policy of the BJP is not in favour to extend the service of any official who are due for retirement, except if the situation is warranted to do so, if one officer retired let the officer down the line take charge, if the senior most is not capable let the junior take charge.
In the namar of insurgency the state government want to extend the service of the former Director general of police is not acceptable, in tackling insurgency in the state, not only the DGP alone, all officer down the line are involved. (SP News)
