Shillong, May 02: The National People’s Party (NPP) will hold the party meeting in Tura tomorrow to decide on the candidate to be put up by the party for the upcoming by-election in 53-Ampati Assembly Constituency schedule for the 28th May 2018.
The Meghalaya State president of the NPP Dr W Kharlukhi told SP News Agency in the party office in Lachumier said that the party will contest the by-election in 53-Ampati Assembly Constituency schedule for the 28th of May 2018. The meeting in Tura that will be held tomorrow will decide who will be the party candidate.
From the NPP will appeal to all collation partners in the MDA government to support the NPP candidate in the by-election. The party will discussed particularly with the BJP and others parties in this regard since they have put up candidate in the general election.
Dr Kharlukhi said that from the party they want a straight contest between the Congress candidate and the NPP, but this depend if they could convince others party not to set up candidate in this by-election in the Ampati constituency.
