SHILLONG, MAY 28: One of the olds priest of the Catholic from the Silesian congregation Rev Sylvanus Sing Lyngdoh passed away today morning at Nazareth Hospital Shillong after a brief illness, he was 95 years old.
He was born on 1921 in Ri Bhoi District, after his schooling he joint the Silesian congregation and hes was ordain as priest in the year 1958. In his 58 years as a priest he has served in different parishes’ in different capacity.
He is popularly known as “ Phadar Sngi” among the khasi community. He not only as priest but a scholar he has written many books in his old age he was a teacher in the Sacred Heart Theological Collage Shillong. His funeral will take place on Monday at the Catholic Cemetery Laiumkhrah.
