Shillong,June 07: The Chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma after the cabinet meeting told the media that the cabinet has decided that, right from the Chief Minister , MLAs, MDCs and government servants had to disclosed their asset and provided the information to the government on or before 31th march of every year.
This information is not only to the Chief minister, MLAs,MDCs and Government servant, but it will include their spouse and children’s, this was done in order to maintain the sanctity in the government .
The cabinet has also approved the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) for the employees of the Mawmluh Cherra Cement Limited (MCC), out of 445 employees in the government company, 145 employees has opted for the scheme.
The expenditure that will incurred in payment of this 145 employees it will come to a sum of Rs 22.3 cores, the government has released some amount earlier , soon the government will released pending amount in order to make the MCCL pay to this employees.
The government wants that MCCL should be revamp in order to make vibrant so that it will generate income to meet their own need, the company has to make profit. The assistances given to the MCCL from the government is in the form of loan.
The cabinet today has also approved the Meghalaya Registration Rule; this is in consonance with the Compulsory Registration of Marriage Act, as passed by the Legislative Assembly.
