Shillong, June 02: Minister in-charge health Mr A L Hek today said that the state government will opt for National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) for the students who want to pursue MBBS studies.
While informing media person, the minister said that the government had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Dr KW Marbaniang to study whether the state should adopt the state eaxam or the NEET; the committee has come up with the recommendation that NEET should be the eaxam for students who wants to go for MBBS study.
The minister said that state quota is very less, there are students who went on their own for MBBS study, on this issued the government may consider special financial assistance it may not be on monthly basis but on yearly assistance.
