Shillong, March 01: In what can be termed as a bold and progressive step, The All India National Congress has released the list of elected Office bearers of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) which resulted from the recent Elections within the organization for which more than 25,000 youths have participated across the state via a digital process.
The MPYC elected members seem to constitute of members that truly represent a wide spectrum of youth in the state, with The President himself, Mr. Adrian L Chyne Mylliem, Mr. L Banphira Lang Basaiawmoit and Mr. Henry Kharmuti were appointed as Vice President.
The AICC has also appointed Mr. Dawan Richmond Rynjahand Miss Lakyntiew Sohkhlet, Mr. Albert Dkhar, Mr. Anish Syiem, Mr. Cuthbert W K Sohtun, Mr. Kitdor Wahlang and Miss Cecilia Barishisha Lyngdoh were appointed as General Secretary.
This is a clear indication of the ability of the party to resonate with the younger generation of our state and in which the party seem to be emphasizing on. When compared to what use to be, the Youth Committee of the Congress have far more dept and balance with qualified youths at the helm of affairs, a positive step for the future.
The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee is putting more focus on quality of political leaders with an intent to deliver on the present as well as the future generation.
It may also be noted that in recent days, The Party has also appointed Mr. Manuel Badwar, as the President of East Shillong Constituency to bring about the much needed vigor and confidence in the electorate that the party has enough supply of young and able leaders in the system to bring about a positive and progressive polity within the state.
