Shillong, August 11: The Agency for Sustainable Development Initiatives (ASDI), Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian (KJP) along with the Social Welfare Department of the state will organize the Shillong Run on August 20. to raise fund for Rev Amirkha School for the disable at Mawlai.
The theme of the run “Run with different abilities” is being held in order to create awareness anout mainstreaming persons with disabilities. The run has three categories – Junior below 14 years, senior category 14 years above and the third category would be for differently abled persons.
Cash prizes will also be given to the winners and there will also be special prizes for oldest and youngest participant. The Shillong Run will start from Parking Lot, Polo and will pass through various localities of Shillong.
According to the organisers proceeds from the run will help in the initiatives of the ASDI-like construction of the school infrastructures of Rev Amirkha School for the disabled situated at Mawlai, Communities based Rehabilitation Centre at Mairang and Mairang VidyaJyoti Inclusive School at Sangshnong, Mairang.
