The BSF apprehended smuggler from Ryngku

Shillong, May 13: Once again causing measure set back to attempts of liquor smugglers, BSF troops deployed at Ryngku, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya intercepted one Tata-207 (ML-05-K-2439) loaded with 17 cases of liquor.After search 740 bottles of liquorwere recovered from the vehicle. One Indian liquor smuggler namely Deepak Malik (31yrs), S/o- Late Akhul Malik, R/o Vill – Ryngku Bazar, PS – Mawsynram, Distt – East Khasi Hills was also apprehended alongwith the liquor. He revealed that liquor consignment was brought for smuggling and was to be handed over to Bangladeshi smuggler. Indian made foreign liquors has got huge demand in Bangladesh. It is sold at high price which lures smugglers to attempt such heinous crime.

The BSF has continuously been in its drive against the liquor smugglers. The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent and curb Trans-border crimes. Smuggled drug and narcotics are ruining our young generation. Our stand against drug is very clear and India is fighting to get rid of this evil elements from the society said BSF PRO.

Apprehended person and along with seized items handed over to concerned authority for further legal action.
