Shillong, Feb 05: In its commitment towards making the region drugs free, on 04th February 2022, acting on specific tip off, troops of 193 Bn BSF under Meghalaya frontier apprehended two persons with 2850 Yaba tablets.
The consignment was confiscated while both the persons were heading towards area of BSF BOP Barsora on motorcycle with an intention to smuggle it to Bangladesh. The place of seizure was just 300 mtr from the International Border.
An FIR was lodged against both with PS Ranikor in this regard. The apprehended persons along with seized Yaba were handed over to Police outpost–Barsora under PS Ranikor, East Khasi Hills district for further disposal.
