Shillong, October 15: The North Eastern Police Academy – the one and only Regional Police Training Academy – in the Country – was established on 21st July 1978. The Academy trains officers of State Police Departments, CAPF, Army, IAF and other civil organisations. The 42nd batch basic course with 98 police officers from different States of North East is at the final leg of basic training.
On 15th of October NEPA Staff and basic course trainees had an opportunity to interact Veteran Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, playback singer, lyricist and television host – Shri Farhan Akhtar. Shri Farhan Akhtar was in Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya in connection with shooting a film viz ‘Rock On 2’ and major portion of the film was shot in Umniuh village in Ri Bhoi District, Cherrapunjee and Laitlum. The film is likely to be screened in November this year.
Several cultural programmes were organised in NEPA Auditorium in the honour of Shri Farhan Akhtar. Shri Farhan Akhtar expressed his love and regards for the people of NEPA and North East.
