The Graduate and Post Graduates Association of Ri Bhoi elected its new member

Shillong, June 18: The Graduate and Post Graduates Association of Ri Bhoi (GAPGAR) on Saturday elected its new member for the term 2017-2020 during the general meeting held in Shillong. Smt. Jean J. Kylla and Mr. S. Lyngshkor have been elected unopposed as president and general secretary of the GAPGAR.

Apart from the President and General Secretary, the elected new office bearers are vice president Mr. Matthew K. Makdoh, working president – Mr. Daminot Kharshandi, assistant general secretary  Dr. K. Makdoh, secretaries Mr. Kyrmenlang Uriah public relation committee, Mr. Kamailang Nongmalieh academic and excellence committee, Mr. Dalanee Nongmalieh finance and fund raising committee and Mr. Mawjam Makdoh socio-economic and development committee, treasurer  Mr. L. Lapang. The executive members include Dr. C. Masharing, Mr. Mayralborn Syiem.

During the meeting it was also decided that the other office-bearers and executive members of the association will be elected soon after the completion of the membership enrolment. GAPGAR also proposed Dr. DD Lapang to be as their chief adviser and Smti. Gracefulness Sten as adviser of the association.

GAPGAR is a professional and a non-political body formed in 2014 for the graduates and post graduates of Ri Bhoi district. Currently the membership of the association is in progress. This Association ultimate objective is for upliftment of Ri-Bhoi district and will also be acting as professional think tank. The association will strive hard to sustain Ri-Bhoi district on the frontline of different sector that is yet to be developed said Mr S.
