Shillong, April 22: The Jaintia Students’ Union has written to Mr A L Hek Meghalaya Health Minister requesting him to allot one Ambulance to Amlarem Civil Sub Division that fall under West Jiantia Hills District.
The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) convey their appreciation and gratitude to the Government of Meghalaya , health workers of the state and all the frontliners who are working tirelessly in this fight against the dreadful COVID 19 in the State of Meghalaya.
The JSU members through their different Circles and Units have voluntarily enrolled themselves as health volunteers under the supervision of District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police in both Districts of Jaintia Hills.
The Union also bring to the notice and reminded the Minister that the Union has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Operating Officer of GVK EMRI 108 Emergency in Shillong on the 21st of August, 2018, requested for the allotment of an Ambulance Emergency Service in the Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, West Jaintia Hills District.
The JSU also remind the health minister that since thé year 2014, the EMRI 108 Ambulance had completely stopped its services from the said sub-division. the Union strongly urge the Government of Meghalaya to allot a new Ambulance for the Amlarem Sub-division as there are not less than 95 villages under thé sub-division.
The people of the sub-division would be really grateful to the government if this new Ambulance Emergency Service is alloted to the sub-division especially during this crisis period that entire world is facing where there is a lockdown in the entire country and where public and private vehicles are not allow to ply.
The JSU believe that this letter of appeal and request would moved your kind conscience, in which I hope that you would take a quick and proactive measures from the side of the Government to solve the above mentioned issues and the hurdles faced by the people during this calamity of lockdown.
