The KSU declare will not allow uranium mining here in the state of Meghalaya

Shillong, March 04: The Newly Elected Executive Committee (EC) which take oath today in the U Soso Tham Auditorium, said that the KSU will not allow uranium mining here in the state of Meghalaya at any cost and if the Government of India tries to do it forcefully, at any cost will not allowed to do so.

The KSU president  also said that they will opposed against any railway projects until and unless the state government comes up with strong laws and mechanism to protect our people from the problem of influx, and without proper entry and exit the  he said railway is out of question.

Marngar also observed that one of the major problems faces the  people here is the problem of drugs addiction by youths and the KSU will ensure to eradicate the problem of drugs here in the state completely.The KSU will also make sure that the Khasi language is enlisted in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India,” he added.

Meanwhile, Marngar also announced today that the former KSU President and General Secretary, Daniel Khyriem and A Jyrwa will remain as members in the Advisory Board of the KSU and not join politics.

Today , memento and souvenir to the former member’s right from the time of Michael Syiem including song performances by students of NEHU from the department of Culture and creative Studies and Maxter Warjri including video report of the KSU by A Jyrwa, former General Secretary of KSU marked the day.
