Shillong, August 03: Celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, BSF Meghalaya on 02nd Aug 2022 organised ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme in the bordering area of South West Garo Hills district, Meghalaya with full zeal and fervour.
Local villagers, school students and teachers also became part of this proud campaign held by 28 Bn BSF. During the programme, BSF officials made all the participants aware of true meaning of Indian flag and its evolution since freedom struggle days.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about our national flag. BSF also motivated all the participants to bring the national flag home and unfurl it from 13th Aug to 15th Aug 2022 in view of forthcoming 75th year of independence as an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.
Besides it, a ‘Plantation Drive’ under the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is also being carried on International Border and in BSF Headquarters under which, more than 1000 saplings have been planted so far to make earth greener.
