Shillong, August 16: The Rotary Club of Shillong, led by its dynamic new president Ms Arandati Paul, celebrated Independence Day, by giving lunch packets to each of the 350 inmates.
This year, there were some differences, the program was very well organized, and we did not give, the packets, to the inmates directly but handed over the lunch packets to the IG prisons Shri M. Kharkhrang who despite his busy independence day schedule, was there, to personally look after the welfare of the inmates.
He said, the inmates were there for reformation and would one day, again be a part of society. Jalabies were also given to the inmates courtesy Delhi Mistan Bhandar, and 350 tricolor face masks for the inmates were presented courtesy, We care The AdventuRers.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to the Superintendant of Jails Mr. Dennis for his untiring efforts during the Covid crisis.
It was a beautifully organized program, thanks to the President, the IG Prisons, the Superintendent, his staff and our members.
