Shillong, Nailur 23: The 13th Annual Celebration of Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre (SNGCC), Shillong and 162nd Birth Anniversary of Jagatpurush Sree Narayana Guru will be organized by SNGCC on September 24, 2016 at Assam Kristi Kendra, Dhankheti, Shillong.
The celebration will be graced by representatives of various Sree Narayana Guru Organizations from all over the country, academicians, scholars, thinkers, social activists, religious leaders of all hues will take part in the daylong anniversary event. Four Sree Narayana Guru Awards, namely, Social Service, Education, Literary and Entrepreneurship and Lifetime Achievement will be distributed on the occasion by Shri A. T. Mondal, Hon’ble Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Shillong who will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
Dr. Jemino Mawthoh, Hon’ble MLA, 21st Nongthymmai Assembly Constituency, Shillong has consented to be the Guest of Honour and Prof. G. K. Sasidharan, a renowned scientist and former VC, University of Calicut, Kerala will be one of the special invited guests at our function.
SNGCC, a socio-cultural, nonsectarian and humanitarian organization, established in 2004 in Shillong with the motto of Sree Narayana Guru – “One Caste, One Religion and One God for Men”. SNGCC is advancing on the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru, a great visionary, saint, philosopher and social reformer who stood for universal brotherhood and a society having social and spiritual values built on the strength of education, unity, women empowerment and professional advancement without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion, colour, language or geographical boundaries.
It is serving the society selflessly for the last twelve years keeping in tune with Guru’s threefold teachings – “Attain freedom through education”, “Attain economic independence through entrepreneurship” and “Strengthen through organization”.
