Shillong, September 22:The State Chief Electoral Officer has informed that the Election Commission of India has fixed the programme for the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with 01-01-2017 as qualifying date.
Draft Electoral Rolls will be published on 30-09-2016, period of filing claims and objections from 30-09-2016 to 31-10-2016, reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha/Local Bodies and RWA meetings etc., and verification of names on 01-10-2016 and 08-10-2016, Special Campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving Claims and Objections on 15-10-2016 and 22-10-2016, disposal of Claims and Objections by 15-11-2016, updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the Control Tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list by 10-12-2016 and Final Publication of Electoral Rolls on 10-01-2017.
All eligible persons who have attained 18 years of age as on 1st January, 2017 are requested to get themselves enrolled in the Electoral Rolls.
Further details and prescribed forms are available at the office of the Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, Block Divisional Officers and at the Polling Stations.
