Shillong, August 22: There are 22 Kickboxers and Officials including 2 women athletes State Kickboxing Contingent lead by 4 International Kickboxers met Sports Minister Meghalaya Banteidor Lyngdoh at a warm send off tea party before leaving for the WAKO India Seniors and Masters National Kickboxing Championship – 2021.
The event will be for Men and Women – All Events that will be held at Badminton Hall, Sports Complex, Mapusa Goa organised by Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association of Goa under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation that will be held from 26th to 29th August 2021.
Till now MSKA Athletes appears to have brought the maximum medals for Meghalaya both in National and International Arena. Recently International Kickboxer Hame Shaniah Suiam from Shangpung received the Meghalaya Day Award U Kiang Nangbah at the Republic Day Celebration in Polo Ground.
The Team leaders are two popular International Kickboxer Hameshaniah Suiam and Asian Gold Medallist in Musical Form Of Kickboxing the Golden Eagle Pynnehbor Mylliemngap from Smit including prominent medalist like Pynshrain Miki Rabon who worked with the Army and had represented India too in WAKO World Championship in Sarajevo 2019 along with Miss Belldona Pakyntein from Mawkyrwat who had represented India in Cadets & Junior Category in Rimini Italy 2015.
Shri Banteidor Lyngdoh expressed his happiness to see that Kickboxing after getting it’s recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) this year at the recently held meeting of IOC at Tokyo2020 Olympic as well as from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Gov’t of India hope that Meghalaya Athletes will one day ahead from now will have a better chance to represent India in a big platform of International Sports Arena and inspired the young athletes to maintain this spirit as they have done also in the past few years till now.
Working President Lorenzo Pearson Warjri in the presence of other MSKA Officials Shri Manbhalang Kharkamni and Phailang S Nongkynrih expressed his gratefulness to the Sports Minister for his good gesture to support this journey to Goa and to also assured to provide reasonable sports infrastructure for popular games Kickboxing in the coming days.
Deputy Chief Minister P. Tynsong Health Minister for providing the Free of Cost RT-PCR Test before leaving to Goa with a Negative Report also after their. Shri Mantre Dkhar a well known personality in Body Builiding is the Team Manager for this State Kickboxing Contingent 2021.
This Tournament is also the 1st Selection Grade for the Athletes to the 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games to be held in Bangkok Chonburi 10-20 March 2022 as well as to the World Kickboxing Championship 2021 to be held in Italy in October this year, said Mr. Lorenzo Person Warjri working president of the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association in the Press statement today.
