Shillong, Sept 30: The last date for filling nomination for the bye election to the 26-Shella (ST) Assembly Constituency ended today. All together there are six candidates who have put their nomination paper today. The elelction will be held on 21st October next month.
The names of the candidate are, Mr Balajiedkupar Synrem, United Democratic Party (UDP), Mr Komen Laitmon, Independent, Smt. Grace Mary Kharpuri, Independent, Mr Batyngshain Laitmon Ryngnga, Indian National Congress (INC), Mr Joshua Warjri, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) And Mr Mosjo Rock F. Wanswett, People’s Democratic Front (PDF).
There are two Independent Candidates and four candidates are set up by political parties, Smti Grace Mary Kharpuri is the only women candidate who has file her nomination paper on the last day of filling nomination.
